I realize that I am exposing my ignorance here... but can someone explain the message/significance of this drawing?
nobody knows except Leonardo. Some say that wolf is pope and eagle is frech king but it is all BS. Nobody knows.
It's obvious that the eagle is the United Stated which is blessed by G-d as evidenced by the crown and the aura. The animal on the boat however is not a wolf but rather a sly fox that represents the Jews who plot daily to overthrow the eagle. Simple!

How 'bout this:
The wolfe in the boat are us bloggers.
