I strongly suspect that mossad had agents were present when Rabbi Yitzchak Ginsburgh spoke in Crown Heights shortly after he was released after his political arrest. A fairly young (early thirties) non-descript Israeli couple entered the building and looking somewhat bewildered they separated; the women entered the hall (RYB was well into his speech) while the man remained in the vestibule and began to examine the books authored by RYG that were for sale. I remember that after he took a
book, not purchased, he sat down and then the look of bewilderment grew to something else as he began to scratch his head unable to understand a single thing and certainly disappointed that he couldn't discern anything seditious or subversive. Twenty minutes later the man and woman exited the building even though Rabbi Ginsburgh had not finished speaking.

We all know that the KGB had a presence as the Rebbe said as much publicly. None of this should be surprising, afterall, there were and remain very real political ramifications stemming from Lubavitch.
