How about a guide to rabbinial courts in general for men women and others. Except for a few serious Lomdim who amongst us is even slightly familiar with the procedures for testimony, evidence , trial etc in a Besdin ?

Gravatar Maybe a guidebook of "good" Batei Dinim? Like Batei Dinim that are composed of real dayanim, that take their jobs seriously as representing Torah.
The daily stream of horror stories of corruption, money grubbing, politics and general lack of concern for the truth by batei dinim - including prominent ones - is demoralizing to the extreme.
Whenever I hear these cases, and ask rabbanim about this outrageous situation, I am usually told "What do you want, people are people" or "That's just the way it is."
A guide of Batei Dinim made up of yorei shomayim would be very useful.

Gravatar BTW, I think we've all heard many cases where the husband/father got the short end of the stick in gitten by batei dinim.
I do think that any guidebook is useful - I agree with Schneur:
"How about a guide to rabbinical courts in general for men women and others"
(Although, I don't know who the "others" are...)

Gravatar CE . Others refers to the rabbonim themselves. I have heard that in some instances the so called dayanim make up the court procedures as they go along and change them when they want to.
Could we not establish a sitting bethdin of 4 duly paid dayanim available 3-4 days weekly with standard court procedures. The London Beth Din works this way.

Awfully short book.

Gravatar A flyer would probably do the trick.
