I have a few questions : Are we certain that the Shmaryahu Gourary in question is the Rasag not the other Shmaryahu Gurary in Tel Aviv who I believe was the brother of the RAZAG ?
Next hasanyone seen the rashag' last will or are we speaking from the bechina of a "urban myth".
Frankly I know for a fact that under court order a great deal of property taken from the rashag's apt by the Raiders was returned to Barry a few years later. So i wonder how all of this ties in to the will story. Could anyone out there find and post the final will of R. Samarius Gourary.
Interesting story. ut why did the rashag forget about this property and if he did not then by not mentioning it in a will it was not decided where it should go ?Very strange indeed.

Rashag left a Will on November 4th 1988 in which he willed ALL his property to Agudas Chasidei Chabad of the United States.
Ececutor of the Will was Rabbi Avraham Rosenfeld.
Witnesses on the Will were:
Rabbi Avraham Rosenfeld
Rabbi Joseph Gutnick
Rabbi Schneur Z. Gurary
"Rashag left a Will on November 4th 1988 in which he willed ALL his property to Agudas Chasidei Chabad of the United States."
If he did not leave ANYTHING for his son, that would present a halachic problem by ignoring/nelecting the mitzvah of yerushah, as stated explicitly in Rambam and Shulchan Aruch.
Barry Gourary told me that a will witnessed by a convicted felon (and its not Gutnick) is probably not alegal document.
Was Rosenfeld the Rashag's driver ?
He also wrote in the will that a few monthes earlier his wife had removed from their bank account about $250.000.00 and that will remain hers. The rest is to Agudas.
I think the Rashag had a driver named Harris, then (BenZion?)Friedman...
But I do remember when I was a Bochur seeing R' Avraham Rosenfeld (Rav of the shul in BP (46 St) and son-in-law of R' Simpson O"H) drive him sometimes, but I think there were also others (Junik?...)

If you read the history of Chabad in America you will note that the Rayatz purchased a certain number of plots in Old Montefiore Feld for his family .
Barry held the ticket to a plot. He showed me the ticket.
It's a segula for arichas yomim veshanim and a minhog Yisroel to purchase a plot.
The wonderful Yiddish novel DIE MISHPOCHA MASHBIR by the great Soviet Yidish writer DER NISTER speaks about this whole derech (karke tachrichim vechuli ) in the Ukraine in the early part of the novel.
The authors father wasa Breslaver chasid and Breslever chasiduth plays a role in this fine novel.
