Interesting. Instead of an academic degree the RCA under the leadership of Rabbi Herson should have awarded a rabbinic diploma Yoreh Yoreh to the governor. Ipso facto he could now be called harav haTamim ....

I wonder if Herson also gave the title to the previous NJ governor, who had special connection to the Jewish Israelis?

Actually many institutions give doctorates without masters. And then of course there are hororary doctorates.

Oh come on, like it matters one way or the other. In any case, they're just buying themselve some government flexibility.
Though I have always wondered, seriously, how yeshiva's can work in so many twisted ways and yet then strive to teach the emet.
