One of my wife's cousins married a 15-year-old girl. His father is a Rosh Yeshiva in Israel, but they had to come to NY to do the marriage, because in NY State, people can marry as young as 14 with parental consent. It had something to do with the girl's father being a teacher in the yeshiva.
I met her again 4 years later, after 3 kids, and she looked a lot older than 19.
As if married men never have nocturnal emmissions.
I understand that many of the West Bank rabbis also conduct marriages involving young men and women.
Rabbi Schick is actually more controversial in other areas than just the fact of his marriage rites.
May I note that the issue of nocturnal emissions is a essential issue for all Breslover chasidim and most other Chassidim.
Through the Tikun haklellai Rabbi Nachman claimed that he found a way for teshuva for the sin of spilling seed.
Obviously other chassidim did not accept the Tikkun. And this issue still troubles the Chasiidc movement.
The issue it should be noted is an acepted issue in Judaism . But the Litvishe world down plays it. Rav Elye Lopian talked about it once a year.
Rav Schick also claims to be an ADMOR calling himself Breslverr rebbe. In addition the implication in his writings is that he is it , that is the incarnation of rav Nachman or maybe even higher.
Of course this does not warrent his arrest by the Israeli police who should be investigating other things...
I met him years ago in his shul and we sat steering at each other for 10 minutes and I picked up and left.
I bumped into him almost daily on the street that I lived in BP. I found him to be Hungarian in culture and tone. Colored bekeshes, the works. Opposite of the Russian Chasisidus of which Breslov is an integral part.
His father who passed away several years ago was a Hungarian rav and a satmar Chasid. His brother is also a hungarian rav.
Today there are few Russian chasidim remaining outside of Chabad (and even there , few remain).
