"While Lazar army continues populating deserted villages and takes possession of vacant properties the massive, top quality Jewish Russian community in America is forsaken with Jewish education out of reach for most. "
that would seem to me to be neither the fault nor the charge of Lazar.
your damned if you do (try to usurp responsibility for Russian Jewry, worldwide) and apparently your damned if you dont.

TA, i think you got it right. lazar is a sincere man. but your reality check does not apply here. the "umil'u es-hooretz vchivshuho" is the ultimate measure of success. and it is so evident from his speech. in a sence, it is akin to the catholic church doctrine, lehavdil, that the power and glory of the church is reflecting the heavenly glory, and thus becomes an end in itself. and there is no contradiction here. lazar and others are very sincere in building the chabad glory and monopolizing judaism. and many sincerely belive that the dira betachtoinim is accomplished by merely glorifying the name of chabad and the Rebbe.

The apparent reason why Lazar kept on saying the words Umilu Es Haaretz Vekivshuha, is because that is the title of the topic of his speech as was published by the Kinus a few weeks ago. I actualy felt that his speech was off topic, and therfore he kept repeating it, to try to give an impression that he is sticking to the topic.

Agreed that he is a sincere man.
and agreed with Faruq that in the barometer of Reb Berel L and L of today the ultimate "Miluh hooretz vekivshuhoh" is the glorification of chabad's name. This explains that when there is a conflict of expanding Hashem's name in general (expanding yiddishkeyt in general or in the FSU through partnership with others or encouraging others or allowing others) or glorifying the Rebbe's name, the latter takes obvious preference.
But this begs the question asked by TA: Why are there no voices within Chabad that search for "miluh hooretz vekivshuhoh" in the needs of the 21 Century, like the example given by TA, of making more inroads of "kibush" in a more lasting and "pnimyoosdike" fashion where there will be large amounts of those who would be assimilated that return to Hashem and His Torah, that is REAL CONQUERING...AND THAT IS THE REAL WISH OF THE REBBE...
instead of vesting so much energy on the so-called "opponenets" of the army of L turn those "opponents" into friends and partners; reveal in them the power that the Tanya and chassidus and The Rebbe's Sichos say that exist within each and every YID!
Why about 30 years ago one would hear a L chossid say: "today is no time to prolong the fights of -chossid/misnaged when we have other turfs and we have to investour energy to unite to fight assimilation" but today one could see that it is more important to perpetuate those quarrels at the expense of real "kibush" of reaching and creating a real revolution that brings back THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF JEWS TO OBSERVING YIDDISHKEYT AND DROPPING ASSIMILATION ! This is the proclamation of the Rebbe to bring Moshiach with "oyroos detohu"; not only to use all mediums given to us by Hashem to the service of Hashem but through that to make an inroad and real change, to bring more of ALL our brethern TOGETHER.
Yes, the mere fact that the Rebbe's army are in all areas of the world does arouse others from their slumber and calls them to do something to bring yidden closer to yiddishkeyt; but it is not sufficient; when dealing with "letaken olom beMalchuss S-D-Y" it must be a LaSTING TIKKUN not mere speeches and proclamations (and Photo-ops) from heads of states (some are not moral exemplars)...

Has this blog joned the self censored Jewish press in the West that is under reporting the finalization of the refusal of the Russian regime to allow rabbi Goldschmidt to live in Moscow.
Clearly the govt, itself has few if any problems with a rav in Moscow. Its obvious that other factors are behind this dirty trick.
Those factors are fairly obvious.
But a reminder to the "Lazar" What goes around comes around. Perhaps he himself should think twice before he leaves Russia.
The Goldschmidt incident rivals the Bere Gourary court case in how low Lubavitch can go.

Has Schneur finally joined the moron-chorus of those that make heavy accusations without having a faintest idea of the facts? The answer is "fairly obvious".

I met Rabbi Lazar the 1st time during 5765 "Mashichist" Kinus he gives the impression of being a very pleasant and sencere Yid.
I don't personaly know the details of various scandals being reported in the media and discussed here, but if one researches his bio and in particular his work in Russia one gets an impression that he is part of the solution not part of he problem.

The Russian embassy in Washington told the Forward that Goldschmidt was denied entry only because of a visa problem. The embassy said he would receive a new visa if he applied for one.

I find it interesting that the Chabad people are very much into "imitatio dei" which translates in our language "mahu rachum af ata rachum vechuli". They try to copy their Rebbe.
Yes they copy his shirts , socks, hat, wedding invitation , Leichter, becher ,vechuli.
Of course his teachngs are left behind . On many occassions in his public farbrenguns the Rebbe's only bit of evidence for someone supporting a position was the maamar chazal Mi shelo Micha shmeam mina shenicha. Since he did not protest its Mashma that he agrees with the position. That was enough for the Rebbe to allow him to lambast that person or group publically.
Friends I have not heard that the Lazar and his org in Russia made a tummul that the other rav in Moscow was not allowed his rabbanus. I have not heard that the lazar has threatened to resign if Rabbi G is not readmiitted. Can you imagine how the Rogochover would have reacted if Rav Mayer Simcha were arrested ??? I have not heard 1 sentence of support for rabbi G from Lazar. So as your rebbe would say Mishelo micha shema minei sheNicha!Where is rabbinical solidarity ? Pardon there is only solidarity with other shluchim !
By the way faruq do you live in Egypt, or Russia or the US . Do you believe in freedom of expression. Or is censoring me just a natural manner to deal with opponents like your buddies dealt with G Rabbi G in Russia.Or like some of your hired hands tried to do to Bere Gourary and his family ?Ahvas israel ???
Lubavitch as a organization will have matured when it deals with its critics in a civilizad manner in open and frank discourse. And when at least once 1 Lubavitcher will admit that some where some how some chabad guy can make an error.
I guess since the rebbe made no errors thus via imatatio dei his chassidm can make no mistakes as well. They are always correct and never make mistakes .
By the way see the Dec.2 FORWARD for more on the Goldschmidt story and the Lazar connection.

schneur, you are not my opponent. i do believe in freedom of expression, which includes my own freedom to express my opinion on your usual way of jumping into conclusions and way too stong attitudes. in short, המר והנמהר does not fit you. that's all. i live in the u.s., btw.

Shneur has the right to express himself even if he does draw your cultish line.Just curious what would happen if Lazar was barred and Goldshmidt remained:What kind of accusations would the Lubabs be saying about the 'snags?

All I am saying is that that there was plenty of circumstantial evidence to indicate some invovlement of Chabad in Russia in L'Affaire Goldschmidt.
Of course not enough for a court case and certainly not enough for a Besdin. But why didn't Chabad protest against this Elbonah Shel Torah !
