I think Reb Ben Zion was the youngest child of R, Avrohom Schneersohn.
Orally I heard that Rebb. Nechama Dina had many brothers and sisters, in the Lettersof the rayaatz one dedects only 1 brother and one sister. Reb Ben Zion was a student of the yeshiva in Kishinev and had a beard.
There is a pictureof him in the book about the Yeshiva in Kishinev.
He sat next to the rebbe on one of his visits.

Reb Avrohom Schneersohn was married to Yocheved Scheiberg, daughter of a prominent Chasid from Kishinev, Moldavia. From what I have researched, it appears that they had at least six children.
Reb Benzion was either the youngest or second to youngest of the children. Reb Benzion and Tzila have no children.
In Kishinev, Reb Avrohom was famous for his Tzidkus and was very much a "hatzne leches", and thus did not answer the call to succeed his father as Rebbe of Chabad-Nezhin.
The Rebbe Rashab held him in great esteem

Reb Avrohom was a wine merchant. As most other desc. of the Zemach Zedek he too did not wish to occupy a rebbistve of Chabad.

The only 2 extended families of religious Schneersohns desc. from the ZZ are the son and 2 grandchildren of Zalman Schneerson and their families and the children of Rav Baruch Shimon Schneersohn of chebin.It would be interesting if 1 of the 2 sons started "fihring" rebbistve as the Admor of Avrutch.h
All other Schneersohns to my knowledge are either not frum or not desc. from the ZZ.
I have heard that there is a Conservative rabbi by the name of Philip Schneerson in CA and a modern orthodox lay leader in the 5 towns by the name of Schneierson as well.
Obviously there are other desc. of the Zz MiNukra like the Butmans.

Schneur can you tell about Admor of Avrutch?
He was rabbi Yosef Yitzchok the son of the ZZ who became a Chagas Rebbe in the Ukraine.The Rashab married his daughter , and there is whole maaseh about the Maharash's relationship to the Chasunah, the mechutan etc. So the Rayaatz was his grandson and the Rashab called the rayaatz "mayn Peylisher" because the zaide was a Peylisher rebbe who did not teach Chabad.
Reb Baruch Shimon is from this line and a 2nd cousin of the late rebbetzin.
