I have to agree with Bloghead on one point - "pogrom" is not the right term here. My reasoning is slightly different, though. “Pogrom” is a very specific term describing mob-executed violence either instigated by the government and police or perpetrated with their acquiescence. The most recent pogrom were the so-called Crown Heights Riots of 1991.
When, however, violence is perpetrated by the government and police themselves, “pogrom” is too mild a term. Other historical parallels do come to mind... How about “Israel’s Kristal Nacht”?

Gravatar Pogrom is also a Russian word from the word "gromit" to destroy and was perpetrated by the Russian antisemites. If in fact the many reports about large percentage of the Russian goyim in Yasam are true then in makes the similarities more chilling, because now it is Cossacks in the heart of our land. What a bitter irony.

Gravatar If only it was irony, but it was planned. The Sochnut Yehudit specifically focused on bringing full extended mixed Russian families (at best, having Jewish father, at worst with only a 3rd generational paternal relationship to a Jew), as many as possible, from Russia and the Ukraine, while specifically hindering interested parties from the West (there's a reason even today you don't see serious numbers of French Jew's making aliyah, given conditions in France).

Gravatar let's see the details...

Gravatar Apparently some secularists in the Sochnut specifically sought to bring as many non-Jewish voters into Israel as possible so as to counter the birth rate of the Frummies. This was an incredibly stupid permanent Leftist solution to a short term problem (for the Leftists). Israel will now deal with this Erev Rav.... forever... Israel is importing it's own demographic threat to Jewish majority inside Israel.

Oh, I strongly urge potential donors to consider where there Tzedaka to Israel goes. There is so much Jewish money going to non-Jewish causes in Israel today - where the donors have no idea how badly they are being hoodwinked - that it isn't funny... I could write pages and pages...

P.S. I am currently trying to formalize my Aliya. The obstacles the bureaucracy places on Jews coming here is astoundig and contrasts dramatically with the generous handouts and support they give to thousands of non-Jews who arrive here. Israel is now post-Zionist and post-Jewish. This is worth an entire blog-site of it's own.... It's Chelm come alive...
