That poor boy. What a horror story. All this happened becuse of Ehud Olmert. He refused the settlers compromise. He is the one who told the police to get tough with the settlers. He must go.

The left in Israel is guilty of the worst form of scapegoating. Lets blame all our problems on the Settlers. To be sure, Israel is facing real threats now from Hamas and Iran. Instead of dealing with them, they blame all their problems on the settlers. Evil Olmert has picked up on this and thats why he went to war against them.

Dear Brothers and Sisters, Members of Mishtarat Yisrael,
Clubs are for dancing.
Clubs are for sandwiches.
Clubs are for snobs who want to keep out nerds and for nerds who don't like geeks.
Clubs can beat criminals and prod cattle.
They're a good thing for Yankees to be a part of, and nice for whacking golf balls...
dear brothers and sisters, members of Mishtarat Yisrael: Jewish cops beating Jewish people with clubs???

I thought you’d be interested, you are discussed.
Dovid dem Shtinker said...
Dovid, unlike Tzemach, I won’t call you a young pisher, however there is a famous proverb: “ you are only young once, yet you can remain immature forever:
Did you ever experience a bag of Crap thrown in you face? Or did you ever get a bucket of Urine dropped on your head? Do you know how it feels to get a brick or a pane of glass, smashed into your face? I should hope not.
The solders, Israeli solder, yes, Israeli solders that risk their life on a daily basis, were attacked, called Nazis and humiliated.
I wonder were you pick up your facts, did you bother reading any of the mainstream news outlets or did you base your facts on some right wing radical blog.
The Jerusalem post reported ” Despite almost losing the sight in his left eye during the violence at the outpost of Amona last week, 19-year-old border policeman Alon Madar has no complaints about having taken part in the operation”.
“He was hit by glass that was thrown from the roof of one of the houses, and was airlifted to the hospital, where he needed three hours of surgery to save his sight. He also needed 16 stitches that have left a scar that runs just below his eye”.
The Yediot Ahronot . (IsraelNN.com) According to a poll published in the nation’s leading newspaper, Yediot Ahronot, over one-half of the public, 57%, blames “settlers,” Yesha residents for this week’s violence in Amona. 16% points the finger of blame at security forces and 4% at Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. 10% place the blame on both sides equally.
Understandably, things got out of hand but the flag-wavers from k-far chabad are just as guilty.
Dovid Dem Shtinker, I must preface my response with a warning: If your comments are to be saturated with condescendence, do me a favor and stick to blogs that appreciate your attitude, like your hero's, TA's blog.
Now, about your reply:
Who ever said anything about the soldiers?? I don't blame the soldiers too much. Their commanders riled them up. I don't blame the settlers at all: They are fighting with stones and glass a war that is as worthy as any war fought with bombs and missiles. Just this shabbos a refugee from G.K.'s child was injured critically. You expect these people to keep crying and hugging? This is a time bomb that's ticking....
About your statistics: That's my point. We can't belong to a society that hates its own identity. Thanks for the help.
And now, I want you to know something:
Sure, at times I like provoking discussion, etc. But if you're going to come on here and start defending the police at the same time that the news papers are rolling the reports that the soldiers were told to attack indiscriminately, and "aim for the heads," do me a favor and beat it! The pain is too raw. I don’t care to be nice or objective or dispassionate. If you believe that the greatest Jews alive deserve to have their children mutilated by Jewish soldiers, then you are officially unwelcome here. The pain is too raw. Go find yourself a "mature"[sic] blog.

I don't know who posted the previous post, but let's get a few things clear: while some IDF soldiers do indeed 'risk their lives on a daily basis', many are in the army to have as much fun as possible. "Fun" for them means whoopping it up, destroying vehicles and property, fornicating with female (or male!) soldiers, and dancing to the loudest rap/hip-hop/trance/house noise you ever heard, among other things. There have been some IDF officers use their rank to demand sexual favors from subordinates; the Charedim and Dati'im who won't allow their daughters to join the IDF know what they are doing.
Incidentally, it is the Dati-Le'umi types who are very prominent in the most demanding divisions and they are the ones who do much of the riskiest work. They also have a strongly moral/philosophical approach to soldiering. The Leftists are afraid of them and have been trying to politicize the army - a very dangerous move in a proper democracy.
Amona is part of this dangerous trend. Not surprisingly, the Left is applying spin, telling us that several thousand helmeted, baton-swinging soldiers were somehow brutalized by several hundred unarmed teenagers. And there is loads of video evidence to show who did the attacking...

Olmert is not the only one to blame.
The badly misnamed Palestinean Statehood lobby, Peace Now, petitioned the Israeli courts to enforce the law on "illegal" structures owned by Jews. The courts agreed. Within minutes of the court decision, the Black Horsemen struck. Of course, the government (Olmert, etc.) had prepared its violent response in the event that the courts agreed with Palestine Now.
Curiously, Peace Now has been campaigning to enforce Israeli law (against Jews) in territories that Peace Now does not even consider to be Israel - even as they oppose the enforcement of the same laws (against Arabs) inside Israel. The hypocrites at Palestine Now, errrr, Peace Now have been celebrating the blood at Amona for days now.
Another group (named We Are On The Map?) has applied to the courts to enforce the same laws against thousands of Arab structures. The first application to the courts involves an illegal Palestinean Settlement outpost outside Bir Zeit. Will the Black Horsemen ride again???

Olmert is blocking the investigation becuse he is afraid of the truth. In this country, if sometning like that happened, a special council would be broughtin. I have written to Pres. Bush asking him to get involved on a humanitarian basis and demand that Olmert allow the investigation to proceed.I implore all of you, write to Bush, write to your congressman. The only thing Olmert fears is the US. The truth about Amona must come out.

At the begining of the second Intifada they killed 13 Israeli Arabs. Why not think that then and now, its just police brutality?

Einikel,
In the same way that Jews respond to offensive political cartoons by writing letters to the editor but not by rioting or murdering (as is the Arab/Muslim tradition), so too Jews respond to offensive govt policy by reasoned and measured complaint and not with violence.
When Arabs in Israel don't like something, out come the guns and knives and bombs and blood is everywhere. Remember that Israeli guy who was murdered by the Arab mob just a few weeks ago after shooting in a bus? The only possible police action to restore order is forceful action.
The same response is simply inappropriate with most other cultures on the planet today.
Indeed, this may be one of the reasons that 'softly, softly' approaches in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere may fail; the people there may NEED a strong arm to keep them in line.
So don't accuse Israel when she treats Arabs MUCH MORE DAINTILY THAN ANY ARAB GOVERNMENTS TREATS THE SAME PEOPLE.
For Israel to treat unarmed Jews in a similar manner as it deals with Islamo-Fascist terrorists is the depth of self-hating depravity...

Jake,
"so too Jews respond to offensive govt policy by reasoned and measured complaint and not with violence." - Stones, metal bars etc were thrown at the police by Jews. Who started with the violence? I dont know and I assume that neither do you. All we know is what the police tell us happened, and on the other side what the settlers tell us happened? Why do you so easily prefer to believe one side over the other?
"When Arabs in Israel don't like something, out come the guns and knives and bombs and blood is everywhere." - I was talking about the October 2000 riots. The riots were very violent, but there were no guns, knives or bombs used.
"So don't accuse Israel when she treats Arabs MUCH MORE DAINTILY THAN ANY ARAB GOVERNMENTS TREATS THE SAME PEOPLE." - Sorry, but I didnt accuse Israel of such a thing.
"For Israel to treat unarmed Jews in a similar manner as it deals with Islamo-Fascist terrorists is the depth of self-hating depravity..." - In the October 2000 riots, rubber-coated bullets, and at some instances live ammunition, were used by police against the rioters. 13 were killed then. In Amona, no firearm was used.
I dont know the actual facts of what happened, so I cant justify or unjustify any side. Strangly enough, for you guys its absolutely clear what happened even though you werent there. You simply choose to believe one biased side over the other biased side. Yeah, I saw the pictures... but there are other pictures too, and pictures or video parts dont tell the WHOLE story.
And even if the truth about what happened is with you, why is it so special ("progrom" etc) and different from police brutality in other instances, such as the October 2000 riots?

einikel ... for a long while the world Jewish community had no proof that Jews hadn't provoked Hitler into anti-Semitic legislation either.
At some point, one must employ common sense, and, on this note, the government, in its position of power, must always carry the responsibility of explanation.
