I think as long as you listen to it a bunch of times you get use to it and start liking it.. but the question does beg.. is it like that for most music?

E. Spitzer attorney gen. of NY is bringing most of the big radio stations to court for taking lotza cash to give airtime to artists.. selling more records..

When you here a song enough times does it start sounding real good?

That picture is very, very cool... Notice the white light behind him... and the borders of red... Great find!

I would like to comment, but alas, I feel unwelcome.

Gravatar Dear kara, it is better than feel unwelcome in a real life.

Gravatar Check out Matisyahu's new music video from his new album here.
I found the link at Dance to Life!
I loved it! I watched the video 3 times and enjoyed each time more then the time before. I always had doubts whether Matisyahu would be able to compete on the mainstream level, simply because Pop culture today seems infested with the idolization of sex, drugs and bling-bling. He's proving his critics wrong.
The video was energetic, electrifying and inspiring.
My fist is in the air.

Gravatar different courses for different horses

Gravatar vintage jeans: He's competing in mainstream becuase he's standing on the backs of everything Lubavitch did in the past 40 years. People aren't into him, they're into the mystique that he purports to represent.

You like it because...
As with most types of music, your fists are raised to the 30hz kick drum, and the occaisional crisp snare that are beating in your ear canal. The lyrics are simply an easy way to make you, the listener feel like your relating on a deeper level. Much like a rock group will shout out the name of the city they're playing in, it's reactionary on the crowd's part.

There's also a big part of the person, in this case Matisyahu: you've bought into his persona on some level, and your raising your fists to what he represents to you.

I'm sorry to have to break this to you on a blog, I was in a very fragile stage after I found out that pop music (him included) is all an elaborate formula to sell records :(
