I had a look at the pics in the link. How can anyone take a group like this seriously? They spend money on driving a convoy of vans through town proclaiming that the Messiah is here? (Here? He hasn't been alive in a while... He's here?) Are they looney?

Calling it "funny" is being charitable...

Gravatar "God is dead."
Nietzsche

"Nietzsche is dead."
G-d

Gravatar Wow. Who gives them the money for such a campaign?! These people need to be stopped!

Gravatar How can they be stopped? They are organized, well funded, and fanatically convinced they are correct.

Gravatar Funding comes from the people with money who hate the leadership in Chabad, and they're willing to destroy Lubavitch if only it'll mean bringing down Krinsky and Shemtov.

Gravatar Do they offer any courses in esthetics at "Messiah U?" If so, I wish these people would take a few. But then again, if the whole thing didn't look so ridiculous, people might take it more seriously...

Gravatar ...if the whole thing didn't look so ridiculous, people might take it more seriously...
correct, and it also wouldn't BE so rediculous then.

Gravatar May be the first step to stop Messichists to the expose the myth that they are entitled to represent Lubavitch and Klal Yisrael on account of their higher degree of hishkashrus to the Rebbe.

Another step would be to rename its adherents as "fundamentalists", "fanatics" or another term that showed how they prejudge and deny another candidacy for mossiach. And thereby ensure the gollus will be longer!

Gravatar Every time I see this sort of thing, I have to wonder why not attempt to proclaim a new spiritual leader for Chabad, and put an end to this chaos, unless most Chabad people like and support this type of behavior.

Gravatar Jews have a knack for recognizing true leaders when they see them. I am sure that I am not alone in preferring to acknowledge the sad situation of אין מלך בישראל over leadership by a phony.

Gravatar oh no! 770 bochur, you really shouldn't have said this... now this pointless discussion will never end...

Gravatar You know i hate to say it - but these guys - even though it seems to go against most peoples natural inclination and detest for anything that seem remotely Christian - none-the-less they are doing what the Rebbe said and told all of the Lubavitch community to do (see 5750-5752).

It is a shame that this campaign seems to be lead by Israeli fanatics - but the Bigger shame is that it is Not lead by the real leaders of Lubavitch today.

Gravatar "very time I see this sort of thing, I have to wonder why not attempt to proclaim a new spiritual leader for Chabad"
there already is the 'leozner rebbe' shimon deitsch
