Wow, this is hard to believe. I can't put it in my head. I saw Medel two weeks ago and as always he spoke very warmly. Even more devastating is that I remember sitting and having a meal with Mendel and his new bride and it is the entire new generation now.

He is VERY not gay, he also has his label, i think's it's 'levi okunov' or something like that. Though I don't know the family dynamic ( and would not post it if i did) he tries to maintain an active connection with his parents and siblings, though his father is taking it hard.

Unbelievable! This guy's for real... and talented yet. I don't know Okonov at all but I would suggest that he keep his religious persona, wear his yarmulka to shows etc, because that could only add to his niche appeal. I don't know about dead or in prison, but even worse, back where they came from - ie. wrapped in a kapote walking down Kingston with a young bride, and 2 kids panting alongside shortly thereafter.
It's a shame, I've seen alot of guys gather the courage to leave, but after the novelty of bangin' a shiksa, and eating traif wear's off, they realize that they just don't belong, they can't relate (and sometimes can't afford) and quietly slink off back to Albany St. The exception seems to be those that are dynamic enough to either form their own social group or significantly contribute to an existing one.
Lubavtich needs a footsteps of it's own.

Are you sure that those people are not happy? I know many of those people that you refer too who are very happy that they found their way back and try extra hard that their children should remain on the right path and not make the MISTAKES that they made
