The minimum wage is $709 / month - and many people are supporting families on that kind of income. Part-timers earn even less. I know these people; you'd be surprised.

Oh, and the wealthiest 18 families in Israel own 32% of the top 500 companies (together with the companies' income) and control an income equivalent to 77% of the country's budget and 50% of the business GDP. And the politicians make sure to keep on good terms with all that money...

Just for the record among the wealthiest hundred in Israel is the current Gerer rebbe Rabbi Alter. His net worth is fantastic. he owns some of the best prime real property in Tel Aviv.
He could probably solve the poverty problem amomg charedim In Jerusalem for 10 years.
