When you see their (LG and YK etc) behavior in 1992-1994 you have to realize other hands guided the situation in 1978
Truly so. A profound point that I had never pondered before.
I recall Schneur quoting BG as having knowledge of certain reasons as to why the Rashag accepted the Rebbe. I would surmise that what he has/had in mind is not the standard story of the Rebbe having told the Rashag about his communication with the FR at the Ohel.
Would it be possible to comment more now?

BG did speak about the rescue of his uncle, to Brian Mark Rigg, remember? He said that his mother told his father not to go ahead with it, "why are you bringing him here"? were her basic words, but he was a loyal son-in-law and listened to his father-in-law. She probably never forgave RaSHaG for that.

Let me get this straight: BG admitted that his mother (CG) would have preferred that her sister and brother-in-law remain in war-torn, Nazi-controlled Europe? I will grant that she didn't know of Concentration Camps, but still!...

Shneur, you have been smoking some serious dope. When the Rebbe had his heart attack, I was there. The medical team were assembling throughout the night and the next day, including medical equipment, yes, even on yomtov. By the time yomtov was over, the rebbe was giving a sichah on the loudspeakers to all of us hoping to hear good news. After yomtov, my father (not a mazkir) was personally involved (I remember, I was there) in assembling more doctors and more equipment in the rebbes room.
Do me a favor, don't revise history - people are still alive to remember what really happened and will be for many years to come. I think there's a hangar in Roswell waiting for your BS.

DAVZH,
What you are saying does not mean that Chana Gurary was not involved somewhat. Can anyone share what involvement she did have (if anything)?

She definitely was the one who got the door opened.

When you morons of 770 learn how to write a coherent sentence, all slogans all the time. You idiots are the most shameful legacy of the Rebbe and his educational system.

please don't use a quick comment on a blog as proof of knowledge of the rules of grammar.
Chana did come downstairs in 5738 and was banging on the door screaming the Rebbe's second name, at which time he finally opened the door. She could've been a little more respectful, though, no?

Davzh. Firstly I will not comment about rewriting history. Kol haposel bemumo ...
Your comments are interesting and obvioulsy accurate from the vantage point you and your father had. But history is not written al pi eyd echad, its written from multiple perspectives thats the difference between memoir literature and true history.Remember the rebbe had a family in those days and it was they who together with others put the team in place. If the rebbe had a wife and others why would some mazkirim whose talent lay in other fields start making medical decisions ? Obtaining machinery is hard work but getting experts to use them and coordinating the effort involves work that is not done in public.
By the way I was not there (770) but I heard the sicha you refer to and followed events closely. I too was unaware of the involvement of the Gourarys but then again these are family matters.
By the way can you recommend some place in CH i can get some good stuff for my pipe ?

Yehupitz thats the version Dr. Rigg claims BG told him. I heard it the way I wrote from BG too on several different occassions, and in neither instance did he mention any involvement of his mother.
Who knows the truth ?

Chaya Mushka had disdain for the chasidim who she, needless to say ,viewed as peasants. She & her sister socialized with the Russian intellectuals in Manhattan. She also smoked with a long cigarette holder (a pipka) and now she has been cannonized like some kind of virgin mary
