Pathetic and embarassing - IN THAT ORDER!

I would add foolish

I posted the following comment on Ynet.

I live in Jerusalem and go through the neighborhoods involved quite frequently. The story presented here simply didn't happen. This is not the first time that Ynet dramatically reports events among Hareidim that didn't happen. The Hareidi community IS concerned about misuse of the 'net and negative effects it might have on community members. And some people may indeed have gone into a cyber cafe to stop their Hareidi neighbors from using the 'net. But the report of riots and "special police force" responding is the kind of baloney reporting which this site is, unfortunately, becoming famous for. A few hard facts, instead of vague slander, would be more useful - and honest.

There are Pashkevilim pasted up in Meah Shearim and Geulah neighborhoods warning about the cyber cafes and the danger they pose to Hareidim who use them. In my experience, Hareidim who have limited exposure to the Big, Bad World are ill-equipped to deal with things when they do face them. Thus, the fears of danger on the 'net are actually real for these people.

I have no doubt that some Hareidim are up to very naughty - even dangerous - mischief on the 'net - but the typical Israeli MSM anti-religious propoganda won't help anyone understand the situation any better.
