Gravatar I certainly can't toot my horn, but recently my blog has been filled with articles about marriage from a Chassidic point of view incorporating concepts of chassidus and opinions of the Lubavicher Rebbe on how one should conduct himself during an engagement, and my bloopers in the process. I hope this helps get your list started. It's definitely not misnagdish. :)

Gravatar The list was meant for RCA members, in large part as a warning. The idea seems to have been that contemprary rabbis need to pay careful attention to blogs, for both good and bad. Gil's list was mostly about that. If his presentation had been about Chabad's messianism and the current state of Chabad today, surely Mentalblog would have been listed.

Gravatar Shmarya, do not project, unlike you I am not only about Chabad.

Gravatar It's not projection. I know why he made the list and some of the circumstances surrounding it.

Gravatar Shmarya - that's nice, still he provides his audience with a very narrow segment of the J-Blogosphere. No, that's not right. He selects a list that matches the hashkafa of his audience, thereby limiting their worldview to themselves, those against themselves, and those on the edges of themselves.

He presents the Jewish Blogosphere as if their hashkafa is soley represented in it, and instead of giving them a window in to the Internet and J-Blogosphere, he gives them a mirror.

The sad thing is that he's recently been railing against the same phenomina, where Lakewood published some history of U.S. yeshiva yiddishkeit and literally cut Rabbi Solevachik out of the picture (according to Gil, they actually cut him out of a series of pictures where he's sitting next to Kotler.)

The problem is endemic.
