The Head Shliach institution has now passed it's use-by date. By giving ownership of huge territories to certain families, it gave then a sense of security and the encouragement to start something from nothing (in some cases at least).
However, now that Lubavitch has expanded to almost every place where Jews can be found - and probably even some without a single Jew - this same system is now snuffing out all future development and consolidation.
If we can compare the Head Shliach to the "Robber Barron" of old, who laid the groundwork for our economy, then maybe it's time for some kind of antitrust legislation of our own.
How is it that a Hamburger flipper in MacDonald’s can work through the ranks and become the CEO in under 20 years, yet the Head Shluchim have the huge areas set up, for dorei doros? Our best and brightest have to continually move out further and further, where they will have less and less effect.

The Maharal in Netzach Yisroel explains that by definition and necessity a void must precede the advent of a chidush. In other words, a tzimtzum or choshech that precedes a briya chadosha. Oberving that there is no chidush greater than be'as hamoshiach and the geulah, it follows that the void prior to y'mos hamoshiach will be the deepest and darkest. I suppose that Lubavitch too might not escape such travail despite all of the Rebbe's efforts to impel us to rise above the inexorable rising tide of madness that now threatens to engulf the entire world.

Rabbi Boruch Shlomo Cunin claims Nevada and believe it or not I have heard it claimed that he is also the "head shliach" of Mexico!
Baruch
I think that your p'shat is wrong. It would seem that you are advocating that by creating light you would be prolonging the golus.
There is no question about it this is the darkness that proceeds the dawn. The issue is what happened to the concept of neiros l'haair? Are shluchim or for that matter any communal leader or even the individual supposed to contribute to the darkness? Are we to stand by while really bad things happen on our watch when we can contribute to the light!
Please don't assume that I advocate some "outing" or the sort, on the contrary, I advocate darchei noam v'darcei shalom.
Lubavitch will prevail because Lubavitch is no longer a noun but a verb. Persistance overcomes all!

Lots of jealousy against the most succesful shliach of them all.
The guy 'conquered' Cali for Lubavitch, now they want to eat him alive.
I'm no Lubavitch supporter or sympathizer and am not sure that the Jewish world is any better off ,now that B. Shlomo Cunin has basically taken control of much of Jewish California. However a Lubabs perspective should be the outmost admiration for a Bronx kid, who came out of nowhere to build such an empire.
Instead,Lubab 'petz' like Berl, who sit on their tuchus in Crown Heights and do diddly are full of critiscm

j.bs, do you learn history? Every empire follows this pattern. There is always something good to say about the tirants in power. Lenin industilaized the nation. Stalin won the war with Nazis. Kin Gis Han brough civilization to Chnia. Hitler restored German's economy. Brezhnev had a long streach of peace, etc...
