Except for the first, these are not the unwritten American values I grew up with.
*Always begin with good will. It may or may not be returned in kind.
*Always do right.
*An underdog who starts a fight is a stupid dog. In a position of weakness, there are easier ways to achieve ends.
*Never lie.
*If two sides are fighting, the one that started it is almost always the one in the wrong.
*Lots of fights are started by pure and simple meaness. Such people are to be pitied, but always be on your guard.
*Never hit anyone unless he hits you first, and only then if there is no way to escape.
*Your brain is your best weapon. Keep it sharp and use it well.
*Life is frequently unfair. You're lucky to be an American so stop complaining.
