Breslovers should be marginalized in the religious world once again, as they were in the past.

I am very superstitious , when I go to Israel I always visit Amuka and Meiron. I thought to go to Uman. For $1000+ I have a guarantee that he would grab me by my hair and take me out of hell. If I ever end up there.

There is nothing wrong with folk spirituality as long as the "folk" are decent to each other and to everyone who disagrees with them. Tzaddiks, saints, holy men, wise women, and angelic people who "might really be" angels bring distant heaven close to those of us who are only made of earth.

-going to uman ?
-land of the temeim ?
-if anything take the remains of reb nachman to israel.
-whatever happened to "hashem melo kol haaretz kevoydoy" ?
-uman? in a cesspool of unwashed chossidim for rosh hashone?
-reb nachman promised forgiveness? then died a meessas koress ?
(just like R' Y Lurie Ashkenazi?)
-is this jewish at all?
-you speak of not caring to be with sefardi talibans ?
-why, I find the most deranged and out of line tendencies in judaism today represented by oops ashkenazi card carrying "corrupt germanic" speaking (yiddish? they call it) both chossidish und litvish, true contemporary meenim.
-no wonder so many of you lose their bearings!
-yiiikes! why did I keep reading!

Not in the opinion of this former Catholic. I'm beginning to believe that the Baal Shem Tov must have been very influenced by the devotional practices of the Christian peasantry he must have lived near.

yakhne,
if you are (married or not) of the female sex-as the name implies-, you can't go in Rosh Hashana, lest you be seen by boys and lest you be tempted to look at boys.
The boys leave their families -some even from Israel- to go to the land of the antisemites. Some mitzva! Besides, Rosh Hashana, is not meant to be great but is rather the first 2(of 10) Days of Awe.
Besides 2, I am told the hotels are not that great. but, who cares, just stay at home and pray to אלוקי ישראל, as מלוא כל הארץ כבודו
:)

a shiur by rabbi moshe tzuriel -in hebrew- indicating why it may be not such a good idea to go to uman.
in particular to those in israel.
it seems most of those in the diaspora, should be likewise discouraged. very interesting reading, i feel is very worthy to spread around.

R' Yachne
I want to ask you humbly, why should we go to Uman?
Is there a tiqun that is achievable only by abandoning our families and fellow worshipers in the regular shuls we attend?
What with BT Berakhot praising that who prays @ the same place, and conversely, the shekhina misses him (kivyakhol) if he doesn't show up?
Do we have a "better shake"-so to speak- in the Ukraine?
Why? For me the Ukraine seems as alien as Mars, with the added disadvantage of anti semites outnumbering Jews.
Any special segulah there?
I will feel good as you say if I know that you and some other acquaintances on my case quite insistently, "would all feel better" there.
On my side, I rather be with my family and those who will share with us the Seder Rosh Hashana at home.

'I want to ask you humbly, why should we go to Uman?'
for the hell of it.
'Is there a tiqun that is achievable only by abandoning our families and fellow worshipers in the regular shuls we attend?'
no, but there are a lot of stuff that you do when you can achieve them many other ways.
'What with BT Berakhot praising that who prays @ the same place, and conversely, the shekhina misses him (kivyakhol) if he doesn't show up?'
i do understand what you are trying to ask here.
'Do we have a "better shake"-so to speak- in the Ukraine? '
that is a possibility.
'Why? For me the Ukraine seems as alien as Mars, with the added disadvantage of anti semites outnumbering Jews.'
i find that statement true of the u.s. of a.
'Any special segulah there?'
yes.
