Journo Lisa's previous blog entry, that you refered to earlier, sounded somewhat Lefty (Capital L). This current entry from Lisa is distinctly Lefty.

Why should a single death of the son of a Lefty "Writer" become a "collective symbol"?

The destruction of the lives of nearly 10,000 Jews from Gush Katif last year didn't draw any tears from the Lefties. These Jews, refugees in their own land, have suffered all manner of devestation - divorce, poor performance in school, bankruptcy, health problems - in addition to the pain of homelessness. You probably haven't heard of any of these personal tragedies; the MSM doesn't report on their pain. (Did you know that many of these people are still paying mortgages to the bank on bulldozed homes that no longer exist???)

The Left thought that the "settlements were the greatest obstacle to peace in the Middle East" - and said so loudly many times. Now that they have been proven so dangerously wrong - again - they are crying over the deaths of... sons of Lefties?

Didn't the deaths of the other over 100 soldiers who were NOT the sons of Lefty "writers" count for something? Were those deaths the symbol for nothing?

How about the deaths of civilians - Jews, Christians, Moslems, Druze and Bedouin? Also counted for nothing?

Lisa's blog entry is an insult to my sense of morality. Her fawning over arch-antisemite and bankrupt Shalom Achshav activist Yariv Oppenheimer is an insult to Jews everywhere. Please spare us more of this drivel.

Well said Jake in Jerusalem. I read the tragic death article for about 90 seconds and realised that it's a secular martyrdom setup. Feature Writing 101 exploits human compassion to create an opportunity to chant the usual leftwing dogmas.

Backpedal.....

One of the attractions of Mentalblog is it's eclectic mix of items. TA, if you find some good material at Lisa's blog and you feel it interests you and might interest your readers, go ahead and present it.

I am just warning that some of Lisa's stuff seems too Lefty for a reasonable intelligence to stomach, so be selective. You don't have to throw ALL of her material out.

Hey, judging by the comments here, some people read Mentalblog and they don't seem to agree with you all the time... and THEY still keep coming back. :-)
