Do people know if the town is named after Bogdan?

I think it is - and it is located in Khmelnitsky Oblast, so the whole region is named after him.
When I was in Khmelnitsky I remarked that naming a place after him would be like having a "Hitler town" in Germany.

I thought we're past the deleting dissenting comments here. It's a well=known fact that פריצים and just plain peasants would come to the Tzaddikim to have them pray for them whilst alive. Why should visiting the resting place be any different?

Tzig, I don't mind dissenting comments but not the stupid comments. Try harder.

Why should a Jew live in a town called Hitler? Its like I am a shliach in Hitler...and I told the mayor of Hilter to ask BESHT for the election victory in Hitler.

well, if a jew was born in that town is a reason enough to live there. ukrainian soil is soaked with jewish blood, the fact that a particular town is named after a mass murderer does not change much. as far as i know, ukrainian jews do not have much choice if they are not inclined to live in economic misery of israel. if they migrate to germany they are asked in turn "why should a jew live in germany?"

correction: pereiaslav-khmelnitsky is a different town. khmelnitsky in question was founded as proskurov and renamed after bogdan after the war.
