you would not as a schlepper Lubavitcher, the higher echelons are lecking any ass willing to let it self lecked by these phonies.
there is no leadership in Lubavitch. Today Lubavitch is free for all, everyone doing as he pleases. Power and money rules.
Lubavitch today is a perfect mirror of the Jewish faith as a whole. clueless of what it is and where its heading except for the few who have there heads screwed on right and still uphold the tenets of Chassidism.

In every age and every society most people will do that which is politically expedient. Idealists have always been a minority.
By the way, I do not fault Lazar for meeting with Olmert. As the head rabbi of Russia, he had no choice. We in this country have the freedom to say that Olmert is a disgrace and we should do everything in our power to get rid of him.

If Lazar can worship the KGB goon who kills journalists (I think she was Jewish BTW), why would he have a problem with Olmert? He is in his element completely.

lazar met olmert as chief rabbi of russia and not as head shliach of russia.
imagine the chilul hashem if the chief rabbi of russia refuses to meet prime minister of israel?
our differences of opinions are best confined to our circles and not displayed on the world arena.
as an aside, Rabbi lazar is flying out to melbourne australia for his nephew's wedding.

Can you imagine (G-d forbid), you know on second thoughts here's another example.
How about Bush meeting with Hitler or some mafia guy not as President but only as the ceo of his own personal company. Its ludicrous.
as far as your second point its makes even less sense than the first.
Publicly meeting with someone is a public statement. The inner circles don't exist anymore at this point.
Lubavitch needs a leader, perhaps a CEO ( and NOT any of the current ones) what we have now is a vacuum being filled by shmutz.

this may be a gzera shava between many Shluchim. On my recent visit to an 'unnamed country' I almost fell on the floor when the Sheliach very eagerly inquired if I still keep in touch with some of my ex-friends who rose to political and economical power in that country. These 'friends' over the years transformed into right-wing semi-anti-Semitic politicians (they did not start out as one) to whom I refuse to speak. The normal ones resigned from the party over the years, including myself, in protest to the policy changes. The Shluchim know this very well, but they were only interested in the political game not the ideas or ideologies. It is somewhat understandable and at the same time unforgivable.

Lubavitch apologists (and there are many of them) seem to be big believers in the idea that a human can have 2 different personalities. As expressed on this site that R. Lazar acted as chief rabbi not as chief shaliach. The implication being that as chief shliach he would not meet with these gents...
Pray tell me how did this man get to be chief rabbi perhaps because he was chief shaliach ?
May I inquire if Lazar as so called chief rabi was requested to attend a meeting held in a Russian orthodox Church would he attend as chief rabbi , but protest as head shliach ?
I also wonder are there any non Lubavitchers in Russia who observe Shabbes who consider Lazar as chief rabbi ?

For some reason the fact that the "real" Chief Rabbi, and his millionaire, Arkady what's his face, the good one as opposed to the "evil" Leviyev, ALSO met with Olmert, is ignored here.
You're all a bunch of loser hypocrites. Schneur, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Are there any real chief rabbis. The position never existed in Moscow or Russia.. Rabbi Jacob Mazah was Crown rabbi not chief rabbi, Rabbis Schlieffer and Levin were rabbis of the Choral synagogue . Rabbi Fishman and Shayevitch held the same post with much less authority Then we got chief rabbis. As Rbb Chaim Yankev Widerevitz (the mesader of the responsa of the Zemach Zedek) replied when asked who made him chief rabbi of New York, he replied the sign painter .
