Yes, yes and yes. BUT (and "but" macht treif) somehow when he is saying it my craw rises and I want to say, "go to hell you self serving hypocritical..." A wise man would have remained silent, oops.

what a piece of crap. incredible. What the heck is Daas Torah? My little brain never got it. Where did this concept pop-up from? Because in all the 'older' sefarim, I've never seen it mentioned. Can someone enlighten me?

"mechabeid the gedolei Torah" of our times. That, he declared, is how we have to be mesakein the bizoyon. "We are soldiers. We are mekadshei Sheim Shomayim."

I am gonna throw up on the keyboard...

It reminds me of the pisgom from the lail seder; a gadol that needs to be measured is not a gadol. Similarly, if you specifically need to ask for respect you most likely do not derserve - the sense of entitlement especially rubs me the wrong way. A friend who attended the levayah of HaRav Moishe Feinstein reported the distinct stench of ga'avah that wafted out over the crowd from dias during the hespaidim. He characterized them thusly: "Oy-y-y-y we have lost so many gedolim and I'm not feeling too well myself."

The lust for honor makes many men ridiculous. And a disproportionate percentage are Litvaks. Latter day Lubavitchers have different yearnings. But really is there such a difference between the two classes of clowns?

A long running joke was that the Misnaged Ba'al Ga'avoh would say "nobody is greater than me" while a Chassidic Ba'al Ga'avoh says "nobody is more insignificant". I am not sure which one is more common today...
