TA to make you feel better, just think about all of the idol worshipers bowing down to a JEW, and also just think how much money the Jewish merchants make off of them.
What I can't stand is when yidden themselves get into "the Season." I know of a Jewish family that sends out holiday cards etc.... They make it into an American tradition rather than an avodah zorah.
BTW I was speaking to a fine yid yesterday. This guy a tremendous baal tzedokkah and he nebach lost a child some years ago. The family also has close ties with Chabad. As we were speaking he mentioned that his wife got an e-mail from a Chabad shaliach reminding the family that "we don't learn on nitul nacht. Here's a guy who probably wouldn't learn anyways, but now his entire avodah is not to learn.
I've heard from misnagdim that the reason for not learning is actually not to go outside to the bais hamedrash because it was dangerous for a Yid to go out, but we definitely need to learn. Why the stress on not learning ???????????????

If they only knew, they would make such a festivity for every little Jewish baby!
