Do yuo accept personal checks ?

Schenur you should get a Maftir in 770. You deserve all they kovod.

Seriously. I wish to know the following :
Did the rebbe sing the haftora according to the Trop or did he do what the other Chassidim do mumble it to himself?
What is the general Chabad minhog in this regard ?
Thanks in advance

Schneur,
You can listen here to the Rebbe saying the Haftorah for a fast day http://chabad.info/php/audio.php...playsong& id=636

The 'mumbling' is halocho.

Tzemach, you've attracted an idiot worse than me.

The Rebbe said the Haftora loud and clear, and thus it became our minhog.

Gravatar Ach, there are degrees in idiocy?

If instead of "shipping" one asks for the bill of lading, would he be considered a M.Sc.?

Gravatar Guravitzer, you've misunderstood me.

There are those who pasken that one is not yotzei hearing the Haftora read from something other than a klaf, therefore the correct thing to do is to say it quietly, hence the mumbling.

Gravatar there are other chasidic groups where the one who received haftoro does mumble in an inaudible manner and the kahal reads it together eg ger

Gravatar Our minhag is to say it clear (no mumbeling)
In a lot of chasidesher shuls the baal maftir does say it quietly, while everone says it together with him. The reason being (this may not be the only reason) not to shmae the ball maftir if he does not know the trop (or ivra). They are very into not being mevazeh brabim, hence the minhag to stop a bar mitzvah buchor after a few seconds of his drasha.
The Rebbe would say the maftir loud and clear not missing out any trop.

Gravatar But presumably he didn't lein it from a klaf?

Gravatar Looks like the bidding ended early. Anyone know why?

Gravatar it was probably a lame joke. who will pay 5 grand for this? No one.

Gravatar As i posted on another site

first of all it was removed at the request of a gabbai who doesnt want any conroversy regarding any aliyois

secondly about shturem

they had a false article on the english side about this and i emailed them and they removed it asap.
on the hebrew side they kept it up. the question is how can a rabbi issue an opiion without asking the other side to explain it. they must have told him a half a story as you can see by his comments that maybe a giy will buy it or a person not frum etc.
so apparently they didnt tell him that the auction states that it must be APPROVED by the gaboyim, si that this person must be a yid a shomer torah etc and accpetable to have an aliya in 770.

so all my respect to rabbi yeruslavsky but had he asked me i could have explaine dit to him

but i took it off so no more controversy just peace

and what would be wrong if the gaboyim tried a real auction before shabbos bereishish for all the kibudim and let the entire anahs form all over the world be a part of it and give them all a chance to buy a zechus in 770? maybe they could raise more money for the shul?

a person who is not in 770 on shabbos bereishis cannot be a part of it.

and to ask who would buy it the other 3 chazaks went fro more then $5,500. each and even for over $7,000

so ggod luck
and you are all invited to the kidush in 770 this shabbos for chazak

Gravatar lizman, was it your action? I still do not understand why was it taken off? Also, since when do you need to be 'shomer torah' to get an aliyah in 770?

Did R. Yeruslavsky assered it? Great now they are paskanen eBay.

Gravatar yes it was my auction
and my action to remove

i did not say what you need to be (shomer this orthat) all i said was that "you need to be approved ny the gaboyim" let them decide not me

and i think he did asser it. but i think he didnt have the facts.
so i say it doesnt count

Gravatar open it again, you need to make money more than the stinkers! Go for it.

Gravatar ah it is ok the money (profit) would have gone to the shul anyway

so i guess i will take it or give it to a friend

if you are in 770 you will see who gets it
