Chaverim I agree with you both, but surely we are all 3 of us old enough to have witnessed altogether too many episodes like this, altogether too much apparently senseless suffering in this nevertheless impossibly beautiful world, to wonder. Not to mention the chronicles of history. Must we experience every senseless crime and every pointless hurt as a fresh wound to our spirits and our faith? These were truly senseless deaths...
I remember the words of a man who spoke at the funeral of a colleague, addressing his family, he said that he did not know why, and could not know why their father, husband, brother, son had so suffered in his long illness and why he was torn from them at so young an age, but he said he knew the One who knows, and he trusts Him . . .
