YOur definition of worthless is subjective. Many people don't think it's important to be able tto organize your thoughts, as lonmg as the point eventually comes across, albeit after five minutes of interuppting oneself. Who says being creative is so important? What if you just do what you're told, nothing more, nothing less? Some of the fumdamentlist "Chassidihe" bochurim could find many uses for such a person.

If they are worthless to YOU, that's fine, but don't confuse your prespectibe for the absolute, objective "Truth."

and the absolute, objective "Truth" would be whose prospective?

Gravatar In #1 you should change "can" to can't or cannot (right?).

Gravatar right CE

Gravatar I often find myself worthless, but so what?
And if/when I found others to be perhaps worthless, why would I spend time and energy on it? I just move on to the next thing...

Gravatar what is the next thing, is that the community we talked about that doesn't exist?

Gravatar TA,
Good point
:-)

Gravatar do you want to kill them???!

Gravatar they are killing me.

Gravatar Worthless people used to irritate me too in my Raskalnikovian adolescence. Now only cruel people bother me. But I'm sure I'll grow out of that some day too.

Gravatar Inarticulate: Can't formulate a coherent paragraph with beginning, middle and end.

to paraphrase your boy checkhov - "a great play must have a beginning, a middle and an end but not neccesarily in that order

BTW - like the story of the lady sniffing, prodding and poking the chicken until the exasperated butcher came and said "lady, could you pass that test?" how do you think you do on that test?

Gravatar Tzemach, do they have to be all three, or will one suffice to be qualified as worthless?

Gravatar TA, I find your 3 categories kind of cruel. Number 3 for example could be anyone with let's say Asperger Syndrome or some other quirkiness that makes it difficult for them to open up socially to other people. You can have a very social fellow on the other side of the room who may be social but has nothing to contribute creatively or otherwise... The 'unfriendly' girl could be shy herself who doesn't know how to open up... so I wouldn't be so quick to judge.
Number 2: the 'uncreative one' may not have expressed his creativity yet or his creativity perhaps never will get further that his stamp collection, he may be not shining in his professional life either but could be a nice and kind guy otherwise. I may admire the creativity of Dali or Picasso but they were both pretty cruel and for a friend I would rather prefer our number 2 and even number 1 than some pompous, self absorbed creative genius.

Gravatar 1. what about a person who has a visual, but not verbal intelligence?

2.what about a foot soldier, a peasant, a lumpen worker, i.e. the majority of mankind

3. what about the letter of the gaon to his family to avoid social contact?

Gravatar I have a feeling that we don't admire foot soldiers around here. Oh, well, but I wouldn't call them worthless.

Gravatar guravitzer, must be all three.

Gravatar kushen t and evanstonjew, good points.

My wiring is not scientific but artistic. It’s a fiction. Namely I always write about a personal experience. In this case two particularly people. But I coat it into a general rule, just to see if I can castigate them into some untouchable category. Inevitably its not full proof.

But for the record I did not mean creativity narrowly. I rather mean the absence of drive energy know as a life force. A stuckness in some juncture.

Gravatar Ouch--This includes everyone writing a dissertation,
פֿאַר קײנעם נישט געדאכט

Gravatar as one, I protest on behalf of the foot soldiers
