the question is how one dwells in the past and moves forward. Moving forward by itself is easy.
One can move forward directly off a cliff - especially with GPS navigation.
I find it fascinating that a piece of modern technology - no philosophy involved, no ideology behind it, no abortion clinics and inappropriate downloads possible from it - can literally send you off a cliff. A metaphor for all of technology in some way.

What I mean is that I agree with you. But the consequences is too awful for most people to handle. Hence denial.
I think the reality of a 'mute G-d' is the cruelest thing humanity has had to endure. Since we revel in metaphors, to me it is akin to a child whose parent disappears and no one knows where he went. At least if you know, you can be angry, you can be devastated, but you eventually deal with it.
I would say that this is one of the reasons that it is impossible to truly be a Jew without a wide range of deep emotions. Lack of emotions or shallow, narrow range leads to paganism, atheism or a stick up your ass.
G-d is not mute. He's just not playing the song I requested.
