amused, I will readily admit that my social interaction indeed are lacking. This is something that I lamented on this blog since the beginning and is no secret. But now you hear the rest of the story. When I do talk to friends this is very precious to me. I was in Shule talking to two friends when dovber came in and unceremoniously decides to interrupt the conversation with whatever holy crap was in his head. Hence the burn of my displeasure with this. And hence my post about talking in Shule.
I don't think I'll ever really understand the obsession so many chasidim seem to have with delivery. Just because *you* can't detect the personality and soul under a heap of quotes, doesn't mean it's not there.
I would think you could see deeper? I just don't understand.
I've worked for years providing therapy to children diagnosed with HFA and Aspergers. If I am not mistaken, Tzemach is taking you to task for quoting a Sefer instead of either presenting your own view or going deeper into the sefer's view until it becomes your own. It did not sound to me like he was saying anything about the Bnei Yisachar, and perhaps being that the Bnei Yisachar was not quoting, he was presenting his own view, Tzemach may rather enjoy that.

The whole commentary of Rashi is made up mostly of quotes of Talmud and Midrashim yet you would not write that Rashi was a moron you pick "RebChaimhaQoton" to bash instead...
There is a place for original thought and there is a place for quotes I even tend to agree with your thesis that quotes are overused in Jewish/Chareidi world and original thought is downplayed.
PS. On the other hand I remember when I learned in Mimonides school in 1994 they had us come up with our own original explanations during a Chumash class which was kind of wierd to me at that time, but perhaps there is some value to that.
