the wakser story is haunting because i saw it unfold at opw.there was also a guy living in waksers house on pres. st. who was showing young boys porn movies on shabbos. to get anyone to move was impossible. finally isroel shem tov operating on his own chased this scum ZEREK BROWN out of the hood, but it took years.
ocean pkw where wakser worked was the scene of numerious abuses.there was a kid named avi osdeba who was a bit differrent[ just eccentric]. the kids used to hold him down and burn him with cigereet butts.the anhalla knew what was going on and chose to ignore the crime. "boys will be boys". when i went to rav osdeba who was this kids uncle and told him the story he said he could do NOTHING ABOUT THE PROBLEM?!!!!!!!!!!

TA, this entire post rings true to me. Yes, that this happened to YS is very sad indeed; he is the last guy that deserved this!

As to DW, the rumors - as you stated - were flying around for a long time (20+ years). And yes, he still kept going to FREE until someone harassed him out of there ~ 7 years ago (I am not sure who did it). Anyone who has met this guy would understand why it was so impossibly difficult to believe these rumors...

you're right however he used to make shabbatons for his students get drunk and get them drunk and play around. the guy is a total phoney. he comes on with that chaddisher bull shit air speaking yiddish and quoting torah and then dropping his pants for the boys.
why those that he molested don't come forth and hang his behind is beyond me?

Do you know DW? I went to his house on Shabbos many times and not only was not molested but I am personally not aware of anyone who was molested by him. I was aware of some of the accusations but then and now I find it funny that it was never spelled out only mysteriously alluded to. Some people I knew were upset that I go there but nobody ever had the guts to spit out what they mean by their allusions? It was typical loshon hara, actually not even that, allusion hara or whatever the name is for it. DW came across as a nice person who may be a little quirky but that's it. If you don't like his style that's not sufficient to accuse him of dropping his pants. If you were abused by him than say so that's a different story...

I knew Avi Osdoba,A"H & used to protect him from the bullies way back when.
Unfortunately due the abuse & torment at the hands of other so called frum Jews plus the death of his beloved father Rabbi Dovid Osdoba,A"H drove Avi over the edge & he killed himself.
This happened a few years ago & I only found out recently from Avi's cousin Mendel Osdoba who is shaliach here in Yerushalayim.

When I was 18 & 17 years old back in the 70's I ate by Dovid Wakser when he lived on Empire Blvd. on many shabbosen & never saw any evidence of molestation although throughout the years I have heard many rumors.
However I do know Radloh & whatever you may think about him good or bad Radloh is one of the most honest people I ever met in my life & if Radloh says it so I have absolutely no reason not to believe him.

I personally saw DW molest a boy, right in 770 during a farbrengen. I confronted him about it (I was then around 15) and he said "I know, I have a problem . . . I'm working on it."

He was my teacher at OP and used to come on to me, but I rebuffed him, so he never got very far.
