It would be a lie to describe Rabbi Levitanskey as a man of great vision, leadership or charisma. Chabad of Simcha Monica AKA Rabbi Levitanskey’s Chabad house looks today almost the same as the day he bought it, some thirty years ago.
If truth be told, the loveliest thing about him was his lack of vision and charisma. Rabbi Levitankey was a man of vision however not the selfish vision that many others have. He cared about people and not about buildings. Everyone in California knew that his door is never closed.
When Cunin in a rage fired his son Mendy, leaving him broke with no money for pesach, it was on Levitanskey door that mendy came knocking. In times of hardship, he was the place to go. He never turned anyone away.
The Levitanskey home phone would ring nonstop with question on halacha from rabbis and shluchim worldwide or just Anash asking for advice. He was a great marriage counselor and a wonderful man. Los Angeles will miss him, California will miss him.
Cunin…….......right before he died and even had the Chutzpa to show to the Leviya as nothing was wrong.

Cunin is at fault for this, he will pay back for his crime. He placed his daughter seven blocks away from rabbi levitansky, and didnt bother to get rabbi levitansky's permission. From that moment and on rabbi levitransky's condition deteriorated from bad to worse, and he ultimately died.
