If this by any means mirrors the lubavitch view, in its acceptance of all jews, we are faced with the interesting paradox that "modern orthodox" is more orthodox and less modern than the "ultra orthodox" chabad. maybe we should relabel chabad "ultra-modern orthodox"...

be that as it may, his attitudes were affected by his association with lubavitch. there were several intermarried families in R' Hecht's shul in Park Slope; in at least two cases, the non-Jewish partner converted.
on the other hand, much of the rest of the boteach piece seems more of his fawning over celebrity, like his long-term michael jackson obsession. feldman is quite the big shot in law and international relations.

I found Feldman's article very articulate and interesting. But I have a question not about him but Boteach now: why does everyone hate this guy so vehemently?
The principal of Maimonides when Feldman attended was not Shapiro. How is his father (and brother) being a child molester relevant at all to this anyhow?
No hatred, just rejection. Not of him personally, but of his thoughts and methods.
I have maitained all along that Chabad is the truly Modern Orthodox.
