The Finals were held in West Germany. Eight teams were participating in the Final Round this time. USSR finished Group B as leaders above the Netherlands and reached the Semi Finals. There, the Soviets defeated Italy 2-0 and gained the final ticket. The match was between USSR and Netherlands, rival of USSR from Group B. Netherlands won the match with a clear score and became the European champions."
