You shouldn't mention him, as the contest was between Zalman Moshe and Nissen as the modern teachers of opposing ideas. These ideas go back to krementchug and nevel. I am sure that the modern cold society had to do with tipping the scales to Reb Nissen and his followers. Those who preached hergesh remained a voice in the desert.

I have been asked not to angle the discussion to the Rebbe. But let me say this. Consistent with his ways the Rebbe took concern about all king of shit, like minute of prayer, etc. But he never addressed or participated in guiding or the idealogical directions of his own Yeshivos while they produced thousands of victimized students under his watch.

You have no idea what the Rebbe did in regards to his Yeshivos. You can catch a glimpse in it in some of the letters. The heads of Yeshivos caught lots of flak from the Rebbe.
