Compare our martyrs and their martyrs. Is there no more obvious dichotomy?

Who Chose Cho?
Lemme start by saying that anything I might write on the subject is speculation. I know practically nothing about the guy which is the same amount that you know about him and which is nothing less than even – dare I say it – Nancy Grace knows about him. That said, I think a rather plausible scenario for the killer's killing is the following.
He was a misfit struggling for survival in the dog-eat-dog reality of natural selection and was failing. Thus he saw all the world as being allied against him and determined in its efforts to ensure that he fail in his Darwinistic quest. And of course he was correct about that. It's not that any group of people, or even any single individual tried to ensure that he fail socially, financially or sexually, it's just that the particular set of genetic, nurtural and financial circumstances into which he was born were simply inadequate in ensuring any great level of success in the environment within which he worked. And thus he was a failure. And thus he became angry and eventually enraged and murderous. And thus… he murdered.
Lest my cold and clinic explanation leave you with the impression that I said nothing at all, let me give you a few f'rinstances.
He shows up in the US in third grade and does not really speak English. The kids in his class laugh at him and make fun of him and pull at the corner of their eyes to mock him. They mimic his father's accent and laugh about how his mother smells. Some kid says something like, "your mother always farts!" and the kids all see how little Cho cringes in shame. (It isn't that the bully-kid is describing any sort of reality regarding Cho's mom but the words "fart" and "your mother" aren't comfortable to hear together when you're eight years old, feeling like a stranger in a strange land and your family has that tight incestuous quality that immigrant families have always had throughout the centuries.) The kids see that Cho cringes and struggles to hold back tears and thus this line becomes a daily dish of abuse for him, said even by kids whom he doesn't know – even kids in younger grades.
The girls have laughing sprees among themselves daring each other to run up and tough Cho and when one does, she and all the other girls shriek with crazed laughter and the toucher makes a great scene of wiping the disgusting "chinaman" cooties from her hands.
In High School at a school sponsored dance he has the amazingly great fortune to somehow be included in on some prank that a few of his classmates are carrying out on one of the faculty members. The prank works wondrously and the way-out-of-touch older teacher gasps when paint flies all over her. It's a dream for the kids and Cho can't believe that he's in on it. some goody goody tells on the bunch and their parents are all called immediately and all the kids are suspended for a week. All of the kids get punished by their parents with groundings and what-not – only Cho gets pummeled by his small dad's fists as his father cries and his mother wails as they genuinely (however incorrectly) fear deportation for their family and react to this prank as any "normal" American parent would if they just found out that their son was arrested on charges of trying to assassinate every United States senator.
In college he's horny as hell. He sees every other guy getting some (and then some) and he isn't getting any at all. And his libido is greater than anyone else's on campus. The only other Korean kid in his dorm is the most popular kid in school and always has some new girlfriend on his arm and Cho's got nothing. Nobody. Not only is he getting no ass, he's getting no sympathetic, listening female ear. And no listening, sympathetic male ear either for that matter. At parties that he occasionally has the guts to go to (alone of course) he sees his fellow male classmates hooking up with girls none of them have ever met before and he sees his female classmates, including one girl he's had a crush on for two years and whom he fantasizes about daily – fantasizes about marrying and living with her forever and loving her forever and making her happy for the rest of his days – he sees her getting tipsy and hooking up with some guy she just met a few minutes earlier. He keeps trying awkwardly to make some connection with girls but they only find him "creepy" and rarely give him more than the time of day.
And one day, after failing to get laid, find a friend, be elected to the student council (despite his excellent grades), get that summer internship at the Reader's Digest, etc. he goes into a gun store and buys himself a 9mm. And WOW! Now he feels more confident and chilled out… empowered actually! And he makes a joke to some random girl on campus and she laughs! He feels better than he's ever felt in his life and he dares to hope against hope that now his life has finally started. Online he comes across some "feed the hungry" site and he actually feels big enough to give. He donates and writes them a note asking whether there's any volunteer program they know about in his area where he might be able to give a few hours a week to help out. He joins a fitness center, the school drama club and he gathers the courage in a personal "oorah!" session to go over to a popular fraternity to ask if he can join… - But the next day he wakes up to find himself still…Cho.
And then one day, after a few new disappointments with himself, others and life in general he vows to avenge himself against so cruel a world. And he does.
Or in less anthropomorphic language, Cho was a creature within his species who was less capable of survival and success (financial, social and reproductive) than others and thus his genes were "naturally selected" for removal from the homo sapien gene pool.
And that's all there is to it.
