If you didn't expect so much from these people you would not be disappointed to the point of constantly disparaging them. They hobble along in the ways of their fathers just as we all do.

ps: Welcome back, you were missed.

I don’t consider this to be the way of our fathers, this is a poor imitation of the Russian monarchy, polish shliachta and it has nothing to do with the Jewish tradition. That stupid throne they carry around is as much out of place in Jerusalem as it is in the context of our tradition. They imitate of course the worst aspects of the hierarchical society.

this rebbe deserves some points for living in heifa.

Why the f*ck are they sitting with their backs to the wall? They look like a f*cking American Reform youth group posing for their group photo of the summer.

Ways of the fathers my ass, it's entirely a modern phenomena. What you are seeing are pictures of a staged PR event. Anyone notice the "Vaad Harabanim" pushke prominently located on the bima? Wonder why there's a Litvak-looking dude with a red beard standing off to the side of what is ostensibly a Chassidic rebbe making an appearance? Notice how in a couple of the photos this rebbe is holding a sheaf of papers with "Vaad Harabanim" letterhead asking him to pray for their donors? The whole exercise is a staged event for the cameras. Rebbe, Chassidim, Tinokos shel Beis Rabban, and the 'throne' - all are assembled for a photo op in pursuit of the almighty tzedakah dollar. The pictures go in glossy advertising inserts begging for cash and promising "brochos and yeshuos" for those who write the checks. I'd love to know the terms of the deal struck between the "Vaad Harabanim" factotums and the Seret-Vizhnitz fixers as to percentage payouts and whatnot. Figure it's gotta be like a feeding frenzy, everyone trying to get a bigger cut.

don't they understand that the children feel the fakery of it all.

the seret vishnitzer is widely disregarded by other vishnitzer.

the rebbe is a very good looking man to this very day.
following WWII he was not frum and partied alot.
his fathers chassidim (what was left of them) pulled him off the dance floor, put him in seclusion for a couple of years and when he came out beard and all, crowned him rebbe.

so he is a legitimate clown!

which is more than you can say about the others...

the second to last picture on the link of pics, the dude to the right of the Rebbe (looking at the picture) looks a lot like Moshe Kotlarsky.

I think he's reincarnated himself (for the gelegenheit) while in Israel and might have his hand in that Pushka on the Bima.

Tony welcome back.

How about we put out a cold beer party while word gets around and all the old chaveirim make their way back here again for some old shit stories.

Frankly I prefer selyodochka with my beer. In Missouri we all do.
