truth be told you have two types of salespeople.
theres the one tzemach mentioned who can sell anything to just about anyone and yes, they do lack a certain depth emotionally.
then you have those who can sell only what they are truly passionate about.
this one is quite the opposite. he is completely immersed in the product/idea and when he sells it he sells a real part of himself to go. when he closes the deal he can be emotionally spent.
i know both types. while i dont despise the former like TA , i personally love the latter.
I'm not able to be the former and I'm the latter type. When you sell a bit of yourself to a Baal habos and another former type will steal him from you... it's the biggest double stab a person can get in his heart.
From the fellow you though was your brother (and is and always was just a selfish saleperson) and from the client who has a part of you in him that was stolen by this Mf.(does the big "K"rinsky come to mind?? huh??)

I assume you used Shluchim as an example but in all likelihood the same can be said for many others in other Jewish affiliations or even non Jewish affiliations. On this blog I guess we just happen to be talking about our own, unfortunately because there isn't many other places which will allow open discussion on a very serious matter as this and if dealt with would perhaps bring much improvement of the species.
Tzemach, Shluchim in my experience are human beings like everyone else and all the weaknesses attributed to humanity is within this group of people as well. Just like the majority of the world is sheker and if you're e lucky you will discover the small minority of better types the same hold true for the holy bunch known as Shluchim
