Tzemach, I take great exception to your comment. Without delving into the validity of your argument and only a fool or a liar could outright deny your observations, the failings of hamein ha'am is not the sum total of the picture and patently ignores those exceptional shining examples of what a Jew should be. In fact there is no shortage of examples and accounts throughout our history where an individual or a small group has redeemed an entire generation by its mesirus nefesh against the prevailing and nearly inexorable zieitgeist of their (and our) generation.
