Here's a tidbit you might be interested in --- Sen. Defensor-Santiago is a great fan of Fr. Richard McBrien's book 'Catholicism'.

I could say more, but Sen. Defensor-Santiago is a bereaved mother and after she lost her son I promised myself I'd go easy on her.

Thank you. That she is a fan of Fr. O'Brien only surprises me in that due to my narrow-minded thinking I fail to consider certain things like American dissidents having international readership and influence. I know better, but don't necessarily apply that knowledge. Mea culpa.

The other day I had read that she studied theology at a rather liberal 'Liberation Theology' type of school. So I suppose the quoted remark should come as no surprise.
