I don't think sexually abusing boys is serving the church well. Yes, I believe all pedophiles are homosexual and all homosexuals are (sexual) deviants. Their whole identity is their sexuality; I don't see how they can serve anyone but themselves well.

I'm sorry to say that it is true. It's not really a secret or anything; in fact I would think that it is a fairly well known case...then again, maybe only on a regional level. To be more fair than I think I need to be, the sexual materials were not limited to those dealing with homosexuality. I read one account where someone who was familiar with the content remarked that is was "soft on bestiality."
Similar things have happened (are happening?) in other seminaries as well. There is another (in)famous bishop from Wisconsin who had a similar program.
A little creative googling will allow you to be more informed than you probably care to be.
I have a hunch that one or two of our frequent visitors here know considerably more about the situation than I do. It's up to them if they feel it prudent to add to anything.
Oh...and he did DESTROY a diocese. Fortunately, they recently had a very good bishop installed, but unless he turns out to be a Charles Borromeo, it will take a long time for them to recover.

I hope you will have the honor of meeting and becoming friends with a few someday; they are good, honest, decent people, the same way there a very many heterosexual deviants. One cannot be a "mass murderer" without also having a problem in other aspects of their mind: They have no self-control; they are cruel; they lie; they are tricky; they hate without justification...etc. All these things and more make up that person- The same goes for a Homosexual. Their deviation by defintion cannot be normal. The cause of their deviation is deeper than the effect you see.
Just as one example: The terms "over-kill" and "gay-rage" originated in the Murder Division of the Police. A homosexual "kills" beyond the death of a person (over-kill) and it is a result of a rage that all gay-murderers have (gay-rage). It is not a "sometimes" thing with them; it is everytime.
I am not saying all homosexuals will kill, I am saying that they ALL have inside them a "deviation from the norm" that is in *everything* they do.
Imagine leaving your child- or your soul- in the charge of this type of person: one who ignores reason; rejects truth and authority; cannot control themself; has irrational emotions... etc.? No Thanks.

Judas Iscariot is DEFINITELY in HELL? I didn't know you've been there. (BTW, a priest actually posited the possibility of Judas already being forgiven, it's not an original thought from me). The Bible condemns homosexuality? Ah yes, the same Bible that forbids you from eating pork and allows you to own slaves. The Church condemns homosexuality - yes it does, but it is also the same Church that put Galileo in prison for claiming the world revolves around the Sun.
Just ask yourself this question: if I, with all my sinfulness, can still love my gay cousin / brother / sister with all my heart, how much more can God whose love is infinitely greater than what my little heart can give?

When posting my reply I was simply stating facts and I didn’t bother trying to make it sound less or better than what it is. That offends some people, but then the very people it offends and who accuse the writer(s) of being full of hate are the very ones who will respond with some really mean stuff without any facts or substance to it.
I prefer to just stick to the facts and I believe Mbrindisi did that as well. My father has spent his life working in law enforcement and has a degree in psychology (criminal). Mbrindisi answered before I had the chance and what he/she is saying is absolutely true.

St. Paul, who was Christ’s representative, said that the “effeminate” would not go to Heaven. Our God also said homosexual acts are wrong. As to the love you give to your neighbor- it includes, most importantly: Brotherly Correction.

I don't know any more particulars (I wasn't aware it was that brand of porn), but I know of who you refer.
I can safely add that the seminary no longer exists. Depending on who you ask, it either closed due to lack of enrollment or because Rome told it to close after the first seminary visitations in the 1980s.
Help me on this. Did this bishop later go on to get fingered while being extorted by his "Warrior" lover? There are really so many to choose from that it makes this one difficult.

Nah, I'm not with that Church you define anymore; I'm a relativistic liberal heathen, you know, the kind whom Ratzinger already declared war on. I cannot for the life of me imagine that God in Heaven would have a particular "sex", be it male or female, so I'm covering my bases.
My "lifestyle" is actually pretty quiet, compared to a lot of people, but then again, since I don't condemn homosexual people and actually accept them fully into my life, your kind probably think I'm bound to share their fate in hell, so I guess I'd never find out if God is indeed a "man or woman" or too Great to partake in such categories.
Although someone I know is convinced that - according to your stereotypes - God may "actually gay." He never married, He had a kid by artificial insemination, He is always fit and healthy, and He loves creating and rearranging things.
