Doctors label the practice "intact dilation and extraction," or D&X. During the procedure, generally performed in the second trimester, a fetus is partially removed from the womb and the skull punctured. Some doctors say it is the safest option for women in some circumstances.
They try to give it a more medically sounding name than “partial-birth”, but I see they still haven’t come up with a more ‘medically-sounding’ explanation of the procedure. I don’t know who they’re trying to fool anyway, it’s not like the general public doesn’t know what it is and how the procedure is performed.
They really don’t need to go thru all the trouble of softening it up for anybody’s sensibilities; sadly, most think it’s okay and/or they don’t really care.
I am waiting for a doctor to explain how it is in the best interest of the mother to have her baby murdered just as it’s being born.

Unfortunately there are a few doctors, primarily abortionists who would say that the circumstances do (can) exist.
Usually though, the "health of the mother" bit actually turns out to be some psychobabble notion that if that baby is not killed before he exits the birth canal the mother will suffer emotionally. Go figure.
