This is just an odd story. I figured my mother would have mentioned something like this to me. I'm hopeful that there is some over-reaction going on, and not the story's assumption of cult.

Yeah, I was thinking along the lines of Forrest until I hit that last bit "They tell them they will all go to hell if they leave." That's not Catholic.
