Don't know if the URL posted above is of any use at all.

Gravatar Hmm. Well, you could get a pretty comprehensive list by assembling the union of the tickers listed in Stocknames, IBES, and Thomson Financial (CDA/Spectrum, 13f, and Insiders) databases. That still may not be complete, but it seems pretty comprehensive.

Gravatar Good afternoon,

Does the Wilshire 5000 cover all listed US-based companies?

- Jeff

Gravatar While CRSP and COMPUSTAT have the majority of the firms, there are quite a few smaller ones that aren't listed. I'm not so concerned about the foreign securities, but I do want to catch as many of the smaller firms as possible.

Gravatar Why don't you just use the CRSP stocknames or the CRSP/COMPUSTAT merged CSTLINK2 files? That would give you all tickers (past and present) for NYSE, NASDAQ, and AMEX. Not sure if you want foreign ones as well, but this would be a good start.
