I have little doubt he'll do well. I'm sure he'll take full advantage of the practice questions, and he's getting access to Schweser's tests and question bank as well as the Study Guides and CFAI materials.
ONe of the characteristics that plays well in preparing for the exam is a high level of neurosis and obsessive-compulsiveness. He's ddefinitely got both.
I got a lot more from the practice exams than I did from studying the material. He's probably well off, you just need to know the specifics about everyhing b/c you never know what they will ask.
