If you are unfamilliar with the intracacies of the whole Shannon-Heathrow affair, then you should not be ashamed of saying so.
Jumping on the "lets rip the piss out of the mid west" bandwagon is not going to win you many friends.
I also notice that this is the second post within a week in which you have singled out Limerick for ridicule, for no aparant reason.
There is more than just Limerick affected by the Shannon-Heathrow route closure.
With all due respect Squid, I think you're missing the point of the post. it is not taking the piss out of Limerick or the mid-West, but satirising the way the story has been hyped by the media and opportunistic local politicians.
There is no anti-Limerick bias in this blog. Sure the previous post was a piss-take, but hardly an original one.
And I'm quite familiar with the intricacies of the Shannon-Heathrow situation, thank you very much.
What a strange thing the Heathrow slot is.
So trivial to Shannon that it's completely unnecessary, and yet, at the same time, so vital to Belfast.
They desperately need four more on top of the eight they already have.
Did you know that CDG and Schiphol would be no use to Belfast at all? (At all, at all)
