I am waiting for Obama to "go there" with McCain's involvement with the Keating 5 and have read that he will use that in commercials. That will be a kick in the balls for McCain in this financial climate.
BTW, did you hear the segment on McCain on As it Happens on Friday? It was interesting - the man has no ideological or moral compass at all. He just wants to be in charge.

Oh charming! That opens the door to question the ethics and activities of one Rev. Muthee caught on video personally praying over a certain willing governor we know. Has anyone thought to ask what exactly happens to the women that the good reverend exposes as being witches? What is the fate of those poor women, given that it is extremely unlikely that they were practicing witchcraft. And further, in the United States and Canada, we practice religious tolerance. Witchcraft, Wicca and paganism are all equally protected... right? How about it Palin?

Say no more. *WINK*
Thanks for the Current link, too. Interesting.
It's very disheartening to me that McCain has turned out this way. He was one of the few Republicans I respected and liked, even if I didn't always agree with him, and his devolution is very disappointing. I actually thought this election might be one of the first fairly civil elections in years, just debating the issues without all the mud slinging and "culture war" bullshit... until I saw his running mate. McSame, they weren't kidding. *sigh*

psa - I wonder if their idea of a "witch" is the same as what we know as a pagan or wiccan?
Maybe I should go through my library and haul out those old books on Celtic witchcraft, cast a few counter-spells if Chimera would help me out

"I wonder if their idea of a "witch" is the same as what we know as a Pagan or Wiccan?"
Very likely not. Not that it would make any difference if it were so, because most of the time, "we" don't get it right, either.
But in Kenya (whence came this witch-finder asshole), as in the Nahavo tradition of the American Southwest, a "witch" is someone who does deliberate damage to others using extra-worldly influences. It's a matter of different cultures using the same word we use, but with a whole different definition. Our version of what the Kenyans call a "witch" would probably be "vandal" or something similar.
