I believe that reason and emotion should work together. Reason provides the foundation while emotion provides the application. One without the other is too extreme. Personally, that is why I enjoy female teachers because I think that they bring these two things together very well. Men are great too, but sometimes I feel that they lose the "heart" of the message in their pursuit of fact.
---In the past, we were involved with a group of people who looked down on educated Christians. They called "seminary"-"cemetary", as if getting a Christian education would kill your faith. Looking back, I realize that this group of people only listened to the opinions of those who agreed with them--which was a limited group, let me tell you. It was so refreshing to come out of that stale environment and see that Christians do think and come up with interesting opinions and ideas.

This came across in my Bible study today. Knowledge should not be expended without action. In other words, it's good to pursue knowledge, but then we must do something with it. Like James says to be doers, not just hearers of the word....
Good stuff Kim.
By the way, the beagle picture just didn't do you justice!

I found a link to this while rummaging through Kim from Hiraeth's archives today. It seems relevant to what we have been discussing lately:

A mind is indeed a terrible thing to waste. I like the balance you have between emotion and reason. We should always use our head, heart and hands for God.
