We used to live behind a cemetery. (the perennial joke was "great view and the neighbors are really quiet). Sam learned all his letters there, tracing them with his little toddler's finger. It was a great place to take stroller rides and there was always something new to discover.
I think cemeteries are beautiful and, like you experienced, a great place to think and imagine.

jim thinks I'm odd that I like to walk in cemeteries. Perhaps it's a woman thing, but I do. the stories of the people gone, the pain of having little ones die, the history there.... I just find it fascinating.
