She's speaking from personal experience I guess. Her logic:
1. I vote "stupidly."
2. I am a single women.
3. Single women are too stupid to be trusted to vote.

At no point in that story did it say that "she has decided"
Is it just your nature to lie, or mis represent your position, or is it an acquired habit?

Ann Coulter makes outrageous statements because people pay attention to them. We just need to stop paying attention to what she says. Certainly there is no need to get worked up about what she says (I don't even respect her enough to assume they are her "views").
In the Thatcher years, broadcasters used to "re-voice" the words of IRA members to follow Mrs. Thatcher's dictate not to give the IRA the "oxygen of publicity." If MSNBC or CNN insist on bothering to cover Coulter's inane statements, the least they could do is to have the voice of Mickey Mouse coming out of her mouth when they do so.

i'm actually not all that worked up by what she said. coulter is a buffoon, that has always been her shtick. it's hardly news that coulter is being coulter and i don't think women are in any danger of losing the right to vote in this country.
i just thought that her remarks were a good example of the liar's paradox.

Just because she is unmarried doesn't mean she is single. Do you know if she is definitely single? If she is in a relationship, her inane comment - at the very least - won't be hypocritical.

She's quite obviously referring to the fact that unmarried women vote overwhelmingly for Democrats. Obviously, she's being outrageous in order to get the Left all worked up, which in turn gets her publicity. She's promoting a new book and you're helping her sell it.

I'm sure Rubber Hose plays a major role in Crown Forum's marketing strategy.
And Hydro, she's been "romantically linked" to several dubious guys but does indeed appear to be single -- and very much available. Desperately so, if her manner of dress is intended to send any signal at all.

MatthewB, I like the way you demonstrate how she dresses by linking to an article, without pictures.
Sounds like you're saying that if a woman wears women's clothing and gets raped, it's her fault.
Cathy, care to comment.
Upyer's, are you saying that someone has to make a 'judgement' or 'decision' about things they write about? As in your case, I believe you just write Anti-American, Anti-Bush because it's built into you. I don't think you decide it at all.

You read my mind, FE -- that's exactly what I'm saying!
Not that it matters in the slightest, but Coulter's sartorial inappropriateness doesn't come across well in still photos: Just scrolled through a thousand or so Google images, and none is particularly salacious. The only revelation to come from this excruciating exercise is that she clearly owns only three outfits.

Well, who knows for sure. And yes, you wonder how Coulter's words would be accepted if they came out of anyone else's mouth, and were deliberately played for politically-incorrect snark. She's a buffoon, and yet there are those who take her halfway seriously.

you really are small minded and it's also strange that you provided a link to a queer site describing her dress because you could find no pictures of her dress. So, you know how she dresses how?

FE, since you asked my opinion--yeah, ol' Ann does dress a bit skanky at times. I do think that the plunging necklines are part of her image that she uses in order to attract attention/sell books. But the blog post MatthewB linked to actually was criticizing the cheap shots regarding her manner of dress on Americablog. Did you read the full post, or did you just read the first 2 lines that quoted the other blog?
Anyway, how she dresses is pretty irrelevant. She says dumb shit like the quotes originally linked in this post, and people freak out, just like when Rush Limbaugh says something horrific. But she's not worth the time or energy to pay attention to when she says crap like this. It stuns me that she can make a living doing it.

Cathy, you surprise me. I'm surprised me that you seem to agree with MatthewB that what a woman wears determines whether she deserves to be raped or not. Actually that, if she is raped, it's because of what she was wearing., Live and learn I guess the message is.

Where did MatthewB or I ever mention rape? FE, are you out of your freakin' gourd??? I said she dresses kinda trashy to get attention and sell books. How does that equate with rape? And what connection does it have with the point of this post?? Or with the blog MatthewB linked to? Or ANYTHING?

Oh wait, I'm sorry--you asked MatthewB if he thought trashy dressers should get raped, and he responded sarcastically, and you are pretending he was serious. I see where the confusion has arisen.... So yeah, FE, I too think that women who dress trashy are begging to be raped! Absolutely! I think I will go out right now in my skankiest outfit and hang around truck stops to see where that gets me.
Siiiiigh.

Cathy, in this very thread above, I asked MatthewB this question:
MatthewB, I like the way you demonstrate how she dresses by linking to an article, without pictures.
Sounds like you're saying that if a woman wears women's clothing and gets raped, it's her fault.
Cathy, care to comment.
and he said:

I asked the question because of the link he gave in his comment.
your comment that I quoted is above also.

this is his(or her or it's) quote:

Demonstrate how that is sarcastic? it doesn't have any Sarcastic brackets around it. I asked, he(or she or it) anwered, I asked you, you answered also.

You tell em, Upyer's, maybe one day your groupies can figure out those little things without your assistance.
You decipher those quotes from MatthewB above and tell me how sarcasm is indicated. In fact, the link he provides is more specific in that direction that's why I asked if that's what he intended and he said "exactly"
Now I realize he got caught sounding like a complete idiot and wanted to pretend as if he hadn't got caught, he was "just kidding" Yea, sure.
And if that sounds like sarcasm, it's not. There's no 'sarcasm brackets' around it.
